Students in the Sports Medicine Program can choose between the Sports Medicine or Physical Therapy Aide majors. Studies in either major will provide a pathway to a fulfilling career in the Sports Medicine industry.

Entrance Requirements

  • Enrollment for this career major is only open to high school applicants.
  • High school applicants must have the written consent of his/her parent or guardian.
  • High school applicants must receive the approval of his/her local high school principal and/or counselor.

College Credit
Through Cooperative Alliance agreements, many GCTC majors are eligible to earn college credit from Oklahoma State University-Institute of Technology.

  • Certification Testing – $0
  • Additional costs may include books, supplies,  and student organization dues.

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers
  • National Health Science Assessment (NCHSE)

Total Hours of Instruction – Estimated time to complete (high school student) – 2 years


  • Morning session – 8:00 a.m. to 10:55 a.m.
  • Afternoon session – 12:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.
