Mission Statement
The mission of the Practical Nursing Program at Green Country Technology Center is to assist the adult student to develop academic and professional skills necessary to succeed in the diversified field of nursing.

Our full-time Licensed Practical Nursing program boasts a 100% pass rate for the National Council for Licensing Examination for Practical Nursing (NCLEX-PN). The mission of the Practical Nursing Program is to assist the adult student to develop academic and professionals skills necessary to succeed in the diverse field of nursing.  Students completing the program are eligible to take the NCLEX-PN exam to be certified as a Licensed Practical Nurse.

The Practical Nursing Program at Green Country Technology Center is guided by the Oklahoma Board of Nursing and by Oklahoma Career and Technology Education and has specific requirements for nursing students. Entrance Requirements

  • Enrollment for this career major is open to adult applicants.
  • Applicants must have a current CNA certificate and have proof of at least 45 hours of a Medical Terminology course.
  • Applicants must complete an Application for Admissions Adult enrollment is based upon availability of the program, satisfactory completion of prerequisites and proof of funding or payment arrangement.
  • Applicants must take the exam offered at Green Country Technology Center and meet minimum scoring standards. The test from Kaplan is a basic generalized test that measures the content
  • areas of reading, mathematics, Science and English, and language usage. The test can be taken at the scheduled at Green Country Technology Center’s Academic Center. A fee of $50.00 must be paid prior to taking the exam.
  • A $200 non-refundable deposit is required for guarantee of enrollment for adult students.

Drug Screening

All students accepted into the LPN program will be randomly drug tested prior to beginning clinicals. The cost is included in the program fees.


To qualify for the class:

  • You must have completed all prerequisites
  • Have an application on file
  • Have all required testing and remediation completed with acceptable scores.

When all requirements have been met, a non-refundable deposit of $200.00 entitles the applicant
to be enrolled in the next available class.

Deadlines for applications are:

  • December 1st for the January class
  • April 1st for the May class
  • August 1st for the September class


Upon receipt of a national background check containing no felonies or arrests within the past five years, the application file will be reviewed. When accepted, the applicant will be notified by mail and/or phone. The $200 non-refundable deposit is then required to secure a place in the class.   • Fees – $3,287.00
  • NCLEX-PN Licensure fee included in tuition and fees.

College Credit

Many GCTC majors are eligible to earn college credit from Oklahoma State University- Institute of Technology.
